Waters Edge Silver

BIO

Jessandra is a self taught artist who loves to create. In 2003 while living in the Marianas Islands she discovered sea glass and wanted to make jewelry. Back in Canada she took a couple of silver smithing courses to learn the basics then taught herself to use metal clay and created highly textured ocean inspired jewelry. She continues to develop her skills in metal and enjoys the interplay between creativity and skill that is silversmithing.

CRAFT

I work in sterling silver and bronze. Textures are created by either sand casting, metal clay or lost wax casting. I use a caster in Vancouver for my lost wax casting. I also use traditional silversmithing techniques of sawing, soldering and forming to create pieces of jewelry and set sea glass, beach stones and gemstones. I use only recycled metals. Found elements collected by me or other beachcombers. Gemstones are sourced from ethical small business.
