Sue works mostly with ethically harvested, live-edge wood from around Vancouver Island, using the shape and the grain of the wood to reveal the unique story in each piece. Sue often uses a technique called pointillism which is well-suited to wood as it allows the grain and colour to show through. Sue’s work has been shown in venues and at arts events around Vancouver Island, including The Robert Bateman Gallery in Victoria,Filberg Festival, Comox Valley Art Gallery and the Sooke and Sidney fine arts shows. 2023 She was selected to be the featured artist at Butchart Gardens. Her work can also be found in galleries on Vancouver Island and in private collections in the UK, Europe, Canada and the USA. Sue currently lives in the Comox Valley where she works from her sunny studio in Cumberland
I do fine art paintings on ethically harvested, live edge wood. I use the shape and grain and work with that to create magical art pieces, I also produce art cards and prints. The average price category below is hard because I sell art cards for $6 prints for $45 and fine art can range from $500 to $8000
