Sharon Lalonde has achieved Exhibiting Member status, with the Federation of Canadian Artists and her paintings are displayed internationally and throughout Canada. She received a BFA from the University of Saskatchewan She creates painting that are energized, expressive and dynamic. The inspiration for the work, is the dynamics of light, movement and life of the image she paints. The process is continually evolving.
My semi-abstract, paintings aim to convey the energy and soul of the image. The creative process involves a variety of materials including collage, acrylic paint, oil pastel as well as mediums etc. resulting in expressionistic/representational work. The substrates used are cradled wood panels and stretched canvas and the pieces emerge through the addition of layers and the sanding and scraping to take away. With this approach, I hope I generate curiosity about the unique paintings.
