Over his 52 years as a professional potter Vijaya has continually honed his craft by attending specialized courses with experts as far away as Italy, Spain, and New York City. His work combines graceful form with pure function, unusual colour and unique textures. Vijaya and his partner, Justina Penner, happily practice their craft at their studio at 504 Church Road Parksville BC.
Vijaya and Justina create and produce a full line of functional and non-functional pottery using a potter's wheel, slab roller, with the majority being wheel thrown. We fire our pottery using various methods such as a gas kiln, electric kiln, raku and low salt fire. Our pottery includes mugs, bowls, vases, oil lamps, match boxes, ikebana, pate cups etc. We are full time potters who design and create all our work ourselves.
