Marianne Enhörning is a Canadian artist, creating from her studio in Comox, BC. Her work is deeply influenced by her family heritage and the natural world that is so prevalent in her daily life. You may spot a small kayaker amidst the endless ocean, or a tiny duo of hikers nestled within a grand old growth forest. Marianne draws inspiration from the tremendous beauty of nature, and how small humankind is in comparison.
My paintings are abstract interpretations of nature. I work on raw canvas and wood panels sourced locally in Canada. I use an assortment of acrylics, oil pastels, chalk, modelling paste, charcoal, conte, pencil, ink and/or water colour. By throwing, writing, wiping, and scraping, I get playful with texture and colour, never knowing what the final outcome will be. I love exploring different colour combinations and compositions, and finding FUN in the creative process.
