Caitlyn Chapman Studio

BIO

Caitlyn Chapman is a jewellery designer and metalsmith based in Victoria. She handcrafts wild & wearable coastal jewellery, for every gender, featuring sculptural nature-inspired textures and forms, using a combination of hand fabrication and lost wax casting processes. Caitlyn’s work is known for its luscious textures and ability to toe the line between rough and refined, hitting a sweet spot where bold form & texture are not daunting to wear, and jewellery becomes wearable art.

CRAFT

I use two production types: hand fabrication (hand tools, torch soldering, etc), and lost wax casting. Most pieces use both methods. My process involves sketching, then a free-flowing process of carving models out of wax, before using the lost-wax process to cast them (in-house) into silver. From there I do any necessary cleanup, soldering, polishing, and stone-setting. All metals sourced from Stuller, certified 100% recycled. Gemstones from several different ethical dealers.
