Waters is your poet Dad on the porch with a coffee and a cigarette’s favourite band. They hold the folk-soul sound you’d want to listen to before, during, and/or after a good cry. Moody, warm, and above all, honest, they are reminiscent of bands like Big Thief, Frazey Ford and Alabama Shakes. It’s clear that each member of Waters brings to the table heart, passion, and intuition. The band’s abstract yet effective lyricism could not be conveyed any more perfectly than with Maita’s sultry, powerful voice. Whatever mood you are in, their music will elevate it.
