Talel Mcbriar is a BC based singer-songwriter who merges traditional folk with alternative rock. Backed by haunting melodies and a distinctive voice, Talel's songs articulate her observations of the world around and within her. She began performing and recording her songs alongside friend Ella Korth in the duo Ella and Talel, and in 2018, their song October won them the Kootenay Music Award for 'Best Original Roots Song.' In 2022, Talel's musical journey culminated in her debut solo EP titled Flood Season, released via indie label Catapult Records. She has since been performing extensively at festivals and venues across Canada and opened for artists such as Madeleine Roger, Noah Derksen, and Sam Lynch. Talel’s recent single titled Not a Machine was released March 2024 and she is currently working on her much anticipated debut LP which is set to be released in 2026. As her following grows, Talel is carving out a space for herself as an authentic songwriter and voice in the Canadian music scene.
